We are a teen-led non-profit organization striving to empower young students by cultivating their STEM skills. Ultimately, our goal is to help students take a step ahead in their careers.

Our programs are free of cost and open to everyone!

We’ve noticed that most of our students learn by doing! As a result, we have made our courses hands-on, interactive experiences. A typical workshop is structured as follows: 1. A brief overview of the topic material 2. Getting familiar with the platforms/software 3. Introduction to new concepts paired with “You Try!” activities 4. Collaboration on a final capstone project (creating a website, making pong, etc..)

A Step Ahead programs are available to all students across the globe! All you need is access to the internet to tune in whenever we host a workshop, whether through a library or independently. In addition to live workshops, we also upload our courses to our YouTube channel.(https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYqRpPUKOx4ysooQ-UbOuug/featured) This provides an asynchronous space that many students love. In the future, we will also support app-based learning in which students can complete various STEM-related courses, ranging from cell development labs to programming lessons.

A Step Ahead courses are available in various learning models. Our one-time workshops give students a brief, thorough introduction to the subject so they can explore their interests and passions. Our multi-week camps generally go in-depth into one particular topic. In this longer model, students meet 1-2 times each week for a month and gain comprehensive knowledge in their field of interest.

Our workshops are geared towards students grades K-8; however, anyone interested in increasing their STEM knowledge can join. No prior STEM experience is required! All you need is a positive mindset and a passion for learning!
