Meet The Team

Sahithi is a senior who is part of the 49ers STEM Leadership Institute at Santa Clara High School. She has been interested in STEM from a young age and currently participates in various STEM activities and competitions, attends coding and robotics clubs, and explores programming languages. Sahithi also enjoys singing and gardening in her free time. She joined A Step Ahead to spread her knowledge to other students and improve her own skills along the way.

Nirathi is a sophmore at UC Berkeley. She is passionate about machine learning, programming, and singing. She has earned several recognitions, such as IEEE publication upon presenting at an IEEE technology conference, as well as the AIAA (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics) Intelligent Systems award for her machine learning research projects. Through A Step Ahead, she hopes to connect with her community and share her passions with younger students.

Nakshathra Jakkula is freshman at Santa Clara High School, and is a part of the SLI 49ers STEM Program. She has a strong passion for STEAM, especially in fields of computer science, and partakes in various competitions such as First Tech Challenge, and science fairs like eCYBERMISSION. Her main interests lie in writing and playing with the cello, and some of her hobbies include Mixed Martial Arts and reading fictional novels. Through A Step Ahead, she hopes to educate the next generation about the limitless opportunities in STEM and further her own skills in mentoring and learning. 

Ricky is a sophmore at Santa Clara High. He is a part of the 49ers STEM Program, and enjoys anything Aviation and STEM related. His hobbies include Running, Volleyball, and Speedcubing.

Avni is a a sophmore at Santa Clara High. She is part of the 49ers STEM Program. She enjoys STEM related activities and has participated in various different competitions including Tech Challenge, Synopsys Science Fair, Green Ninja, and First Lego League. Her hobbies include basketball, drawing, and robotics.

Nicholas Nguyen Is a junior at Santa Clara High School. He is part of the 49ers STEM Leadership Institute. He has also participated in many things such as synopsys science fair, FLL, World of 8 Billion, and other things. Nicholas likes programming, math, science and many other things. He enjoys playing Volleyball and playing Video Games. He joined this program as he wanted to further his skills in teaching as well as prepare for a STEM career.

Rahini is a freshman at Santa Clara High School. She is part of the 49ers STEM Program and enjoys participating in stem related activities such as FTC and Tech Challenge. In her free time she enjoys art. Through A Step Ahead she hopes to be able to spread her love for STEM to people beyond her community!  

Vikram is a junior who attends Santa Clara High School. He is passionate about computer-aided design, robotics, and math. Vikram enjoys playing volleyball, tennis, and gaming. He is excited to work with like-minded peers to educate other students and learn more.

Ryan is a sophmore at Santa Clara High. He is a part of the 49ers STEM Program, and particularly enjoys math. In his free time, he enjoys animating, drawing, and playing volleyball.

Ella is a sophmore at Santa Clara High. She is a part of the 49ers STEM Program and enjoys creating in various media. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, animating and painting. Some of her other hobbies include jujitsu and playing the violin.

Nethrakshaya Jakkula is a junior at Wilcox High School. She enjoys wrestling, taking and teaching martial arts classes, as well as drawing and graphic design. Nethra is passionate about STEM and inspiring the future generation of STEM students. Through Step Ahead, she hopes to teach young children and improve her skills along the way..

Jayne is a freshman at Santa Clara High School and part of the 49ers STEM Program. She has an interest for instruments and music that cultivated from a young age. During her free time, she likes to learn about the beauty of nature. 

Aiswarya is a junior at Wilcox High School. She is passionate about technology, data science, and healthcare. Aiswarya has been involved in several STEM programs and enjoy helping others develop an interest in these fields.

Danna is a sophomore at MECHS. Her interests include history, science, and advocacy. She is currently a biology major at MECHS.
